Arbaaa Hosts Creative Portfolio Workshop in Riyadh: Inside The Art Majlis
Inside Arbaaa's recent Creative Portfolio Workshop in Riyadh. See how local creatives gathered at The Art Majlis to transform everyday memories into art.
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – July 8, 2026 – On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, Riyadh’s thriving creative community gathered at Huna Al Takhassusi for the latest edition of The Art Majlis (Majlis Al Fan). Hosted by Arbaaa Marketing, the hands-on workshop brought together emerging artists, designers, and cultural enthusiasts to challenge conventional ideas of artistic self-presentation, transforming the concept of a portfolio into a living archive of daily experience and personal expression.
A Majlis Rooted in Dialogue & Identity Building
Presented in partnership with creative platforms Rubaah and The Artist House, the intimate session was guided by a central question: What if every image saved, every idea noted, and every detail that catches the eye could become part of an artistic portfolio?
Led by creative voices Lujain Al Duaij, Lama Al Mubarak, and Faten Al Dahham, the gathering fostered an open environment of reflection and shared experience. Rather than viewing a portfolio simply as a static collection of completed masterpieces, participants explored how inspiration begins, how personal memories shape a unique voice, and how everyday encounters serve as foundational artistic material.

A Hands-On Creative Experience
The workshop shifted from deep conceptual dialogue into an experimental, hands-on activity. Tables were layered with diverse textures and media, including fabric pieces, cutouts, colored paper, cards, pencils, and glue.
Discarding the traditional "folder" format, attendees were challenged to construct personal, portable, and layered physical structures capable of being gathered, hooked, and hung anywhere. Through cutting, arranging, and writing, individual materials like a snippet of fabric or a handwritten phrase became profound talking points about creative identity, solidifying the idea that a portfolio begins with what an artist senses, collects, and feels.

A Shared Vision for Saudi Creative Growth
The workshop’s collaborative approach highlighted a shared belief in experimentation, dialogue, and creative growth, aligning closely with KSA Art’s mission to support and spotlight Saudi Arabia’s evolving art community.
Throughout the session, presenters emphasized an open, thoughtful approach to development. By creating a dedicated space for participants to reflect on their individual sources of inspiration, the leaders encouraged a more personal, intuitive relationship with artistic practice. Rather than focusing on industry standards, the prevailing sentiment of the afternoon was that a creative language is best built by transforming everyday, raw observations into meaningful, physical art.

Looking Ahead
For Arbaaa Marketing and KSA Art, this gathering was part of a larger vision: to make art more accessible, to support local creatives with meaningful opportunities, and to build spaces where Saudi talent can grow. The Art Majlis will continue as a monthly gathering, offering artists and art lovers new opportunities to learn, create, and connect.
